Sonny Weems, who has been one of the more pleasant surprises for the Raptors so far in the pre-season, got his second straight start against the Washington Wizards yesterday.

He didn't last long.

The second-year swingman left after just 10 minutes after jamming the big toe on his left foot and didn't return. X-rays were negative and the team is listing him as day-to-day.

Amir Johnson had seven points and a game-high 12 assists in 24 minutes of yesterday's Raptor win over the Wizards. Most important, however, was that he came away with zero stitches.

The 6-foot-9 forward had been cut over his right eye for seven stitches by an errant Patrick O'Bryant elbow on Friday in Minnesota after taking a two-stitch cut to the lip in the previous game in Toronto on Wednesday.

"Yeah, no stitches, that's a plus," he said.
