--One game after he benched his starters and started his subs, Wolves coach Kevin McHale started a lineup Friday that he called a "hodge-podge" of former starters and reserves.
Countering Cleveland's LeBron James and big Zydrunas Ilgauskas, McHale combined normal starters Ryan Gomes and Kevin Love with reserves Collins, Rodney Carney and Kevin Ollie to start Friday. "I didn't use a Ouija board," McHale said. "We're probably going to have different lineups coming in here (toward season's end). For a while, we had guys playing 38, 40 minutes and I just saw what it did to them."
Nobody played more than Randy Foye's 30 minutes off the bench.
"It's going to be an in-and-out platoon thing to see if we can get more energy from them," McHale said. "It doesn't matter who's starting."
--The Wolves threatened to infiltrate the Cavaliers' choreographed pre-game routine before Friday's game at Cleveland.
It sure couldn't have hurt.
LeBron James got the idea when the Cavs were in Los Angeles for a game against the Clippers earlier this month, so know he has borrowed a little of Hollywood before the game and pantomimes a scene in which he maneuvers an imaginary camera at teammates while they gather and pose for a family portrait just before tip-off.
"A couple of our guys wanted to know if they could get involved in the picture," coach Kevin McHale said. "I told them to go ahead, but I'd be a lot more impressed if they ran down there and bowled them over, like a flying body block. The photo would be looked upon as nice. The body block, there'd be suspensions. I liked the league a little better when the body block was looked upon as nice."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "It's LeBron (James), and tonight we were the victim." -- Wolves rookie Kevin Love, after Friday's 22-point loss at Cleveland.
