Minnesota Timberwolves Notes, Quotes 2009-11-22

Minnesota Timberwolves Notes, Quotes 2009-11-22--The Timberwolves' Saturday game at Portland was the third time in 13 days the two teams have played.

"Do we play them every other day now?" coach Kurt Rambis asked.

He hoped that familiarity breeds, well, some distaste if not exactly contempt after the Wolves lost each of the first two games by 23 points.

"I'd like to see some playoff-type basketball, where you take what you learn from one game, make some adjustments, and apply them to the next meeting," Rambis said. "Experienced teams, guys who have been in the league four or five years, start to know what works for them. We'd like to pick up some aspects like that."

The two teams don't play the final game of their four-game season series until Feb. 27 at Target Center.

"The NBA schedule is weird sometimes," Rambis said.

--Rookie Jonny Flynn played -- and started -- his 13th NBA game on Saturday at the Rose Garden.

Somebody asked him what he considered his "Welcome to the NBA" moment so far.

His answer: a collision with Boston's Kevin Garnett in the season's fifth game.

"He just stood over me, like, 'Well, get up,'" Flynn said. "When he did that to me, it put me back in reality that this isn't going to be easy."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "We've been here a lot. We keep playing them. It's almost like practice." -- Wolves C Ryan Hollins on his team's third game against Portland -- and second at the Rose Garden -- in 13 days.
