
--Injured guard Mike Miller accompanied the team to Dallas, but missed his fifth consecutive game because of a sprained right ankle he re-injured 10 days earlier against Houston.
Wolves coach Kevin McHale said Miller came to Dallas so he could continue his conditioning work and be with his teammates as they continue to install new schemes McHale added the team's pre-game walk through. "Everything helps, even when you're trying to implement small things," McHale said.
--Wolves coach McHale and Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle were teammates on Boston's 1986 championship team, the Celtics' 16th and last title until Kevin Garnett and Co. won No. 17 last summer.
McHale, Carlisle, Larry Bird, Danny Ainge, Jerry Sichting and Sam Vincent all went on to coach or manage in the NBA.
"Rick's a great guy and has been a good friend for many, many years," McHale said before Tuesday's game. "It will be nice to look down there and see Rick down there. That was a team that had a bunch of guys who really knew how to play basketball. I guess we didn't know that until later on."
