--G Mike Miller missed his fourth consecutive game -- and his eighth this month -- because of a sprained right ankle he re-injured nine days earlier.
Miller played six seasons in Memphis and was part of a draft-night deal with the Grizzlies six months ago. "There's always something special about going against the team you were with last year," Miller said. "But we play them again next week (Jan. 6), so I don't want to rush it and have this be one of those things that keeps happening."
Coach Kevin McHale said Miller needs three more days of running to improve his conditioning, which makes him unavailable for Tuesday's game at Dallas but possible for Friday's home game against Golden State.
--Coach Kevin McHale had the following exchange with a reporter before Monday's game with Memphis:
"So what do you think of (former Timberwolf, current Clipper) Ricky Davis' suspension?
"What did Ricky get suspended for now?" McHale asked.
"Five games, for violating the NBA's anti-drug program."
A long pause came before McHale's reply: "Aspirin."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "We were 1-for-15, actually. Give us every ounce of those, would you please?" -- Wolves coach Kevin McHale, when asked how his team won a game when they shot 1-for-14 on three-pointers after going 21-for-37 in their previous two games.
