MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota guard Mike Miller left the Timberwolves' game Saturday night against Houston in the first quarter because of a sprained right ankle.
Miller was hurt on a drive to the basket midway through the period. He crashed hard underneath the basket and immediately clutched his right leg. He was helped to the locker room by team officials.Miller missed four games earlier this month with the same injury.
The Rockets beat Minnesota 109-102, the Timberwolves' 12th straight loss on the season. Coach Kevin McHale said the injury "didn't look good" and that Miller would be evaluated on Sunday.
"You hate to see that," guard Randy Foye said. "I knew right away that it was the same ankle. You never want to see a teammate injured like that. Hopefully he'll only miss a game or two and be right back in there."
Miller is third on the team in scoring with 11 points per game and also is averaging six rebounds.
