Kevin Love tweets, leaks McHale departure to Minnesota Timberwolves players
Timberwolves center Al Jefferson said he was "shocked, disappointed (and) hurt" when he heard that Kevin McHale wouldn't be returning as coach next season.

That rookie forward Kevin Love broke the news on Twitter merely left Jefferson confused.

"That's something I just still don't understand," he said. "I haven't had a chance to talk to him yet, but I really believe everybody ought to let him know that was a bad mistake."

In an update posted early Wednesday morning, Love tweeted, "Today is a sad day ... Kevin McHale will NOT be back as head coach this season."

Love, who was traveling Wednesday and could not be reached for comment, had a follow-up post about an hour later after he learned the team had yet to announce the news.

"P.S. I am not a breaking news guy," he said in that tweet. "I had no idea no one knew. I'll tell them I stayed at a holiday inn express last night. Always works."

Wolves president of Basketball operations David Kahn laughed it off when asked at Wednesday's afternoon news conference how he felt about Love's slip.
